The MIBA Diamond Mine

The MIBA diamond mine in Congo. The mine is known for its production of high quality diamonds between the 70’s and the 90’s but has seen a decline in recent times that could be attributed to lack of investments and potential mismanagement.

Based in Mbuji Mayi, in the central part of the Congo, the MIBA mine has served as the main economic sustainer of the local and national government and served as the main creator of employment for the local community.

The slowing down of operations has led to major loss of employment, inability to fund the local province’s government and failure to contribute to national economy.

The Industrial Agro Park of Bukanga Lonzo is one of the agricultural projects that was launched in the year 2016 by the government and was aimed at producing maize meal in large quantities for local consumption as well as for exportation.
